The Distance Learning Section was established in 1991. At its November 18, 2019, virtual meeting, the ACRL Board of Directors approved renaming the “Distance Learning Section” to the “Distance and Online Learning Section,” at the request of the DLS Executive Committee. The name change officially goes into effect on September 1, 2020.
